BROCKTON – Gail M. (Medas) Oliveira, wife of Edward A. Oliveira, died at Caritas - Good Samaritan Medical Center on March 5, 2010.
She was 66.
Born in N. Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Helen (Meetis) Medas.
Raised and educated in the Taunton area, Mrs. Oliveira graduated from Taunton High School in 1960, and received an associate’s degree from the former Chandler School for Women in Boston.
She was later employed as a secretary for the former Seaboard Surety Co. for several years, before settling into homemaking to raise her family.
A communicant of St. Ann Church in W. Bridgewater, Mrs. Oliveira enjoyed music, traveling, and movies, especially musicals, and loved being with her family.
Her happiest moments were those spent with her grandson and family.
Besides her husband of Brockton, she leaves two sons, Edward A. Oliveira and his wife Jennifer of E. Taunton, and Mark F. Oliveira and his wife Gina of Taunton; and a grandson, Joshua E. Oliveira of E. Taunton.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, March 10th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Ann Church, West Bridgewater (Rte. 28) at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday March 9th from 5 to 8 p.m.
