Obituary

Kathleen A. “Kathy” Ahearn, 60, of Brockton, died Thursday at Good Samaritan Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was the longtime companion of Richard A. Piche of Brockton.
Born in Dorchester, she was a daughter of the late F. William “Bill” and Bernice “Bea” (Blum) Ahearn. She was raised in Milton and resided in Brockton for the past 30 years. She also briefly resided in North Carolina and Arizona in the 1990s.
Kathy was a graduate of Thayer Academy, Class of 1968 and Green Mountain College, Class of 1970.
She was employed by Dunkin Donuts Offices in Randolph for 20 years before retiring many years ago.
Kathy enjoyed being outdoors whether gardening, exercising, or spending time with family and friends.
She was a volunteer at Brockton Hospital as well as several other organizations.
Kathy will be remembered as a person who gave of herself to anyone in need. Her wonderful spirit and kindness will be missed but never forgotten.
In addition to her companion of 22 years, she is survived by three brothers, Michael of Westport, Kevin, and his wife Margaret, of Boston, Bill, and his wife Jean, of Dedham, two sisters, Karen Driscoll of New London, NH, and Kristin Pomponi, and her husband Peter, of Belmont. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand nephew and grand niece, and the extended Piche family.
Visiting hours for Kathy will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00 pm in the Sampson-Hickey-Grenier Funeral Home, 309 Main St., Brockton. Kathy and Richard’s families are invited to her funeral service to be held Monday morning at Sampson-Hickey-Grenier Funeral Home. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of one’s choice.
