Gary R. "Chopper" James, age 50 of Lowell, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington after a short illness.
He was born in St. Petersburg, FL on Sept. 7, 1959, a son of the late John and Eileen (Quigley) James.
Gary worked in the construction, home improvement and sheet metal business in the Lowell area for many years. He loved music, especially the Beatles. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and fishing.
Gary is survived by his three children, Gary James, Jr. of Pelham, David and Kelly James of Westford; his sisters and a brother-in-law, Gail Dalton and Phyllis and Donald Carignan, all of Nashua, and Barbara Fauvel of Dracut; a brother-in-law, James Bartlett of Medford; a dear nephew, Chris Collins of Salem, NH; a close friend, Alex Arnes of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anna "Nancy" Stephen, William, Peggy and Jack James, and Judith "Judy" Bartlett who passed away on Oct. 18, 2009.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Saturday, March 6, from 1 to 5pm at which a time, a prayer service will take place at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gary James Memorial Fund, c/o TD Bank, 1255 Bridge St., Dracut, MA 01826.
