New Bedford - Kenneth J. Travers, 54 of New Bedford, MA. passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones.
He was the son of the late Hilda (Pacheco) and Joseph Travers.
Kenneth was the beloved father of Danielle Travers, Vanessa Travers and Kalah Travers and father -in-law of Justin Souza, all of Fall River. He was the proud grandfather of Kyra and Alana.
Fiancée Louise Martin and future stepsons Justin Martin, Drew Martin and Trevor Bogdon.
In his leisure time he enjoyed coaching softball, woodworking, HO scale trains, Harley Davidsons and best known as a rock drummer with well known New England bands such as Starr, Slap and Jezabel.
Kenneth formerly worked at Lincoln Park as a maintenance foreman and until his retirement he was ground crew supervisor at UMass Dartmouth. Mostly recently he work at Keisling Transit.
Mr. Travers’ funeral will be Friday at 9:30 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., with a memorial mass at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30 A.M. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6 - 9 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
