Jewell "Faye" King Williams, 69, of Tifton died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at her residence following a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Representatives from Tift Avenue Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Hospice of Tiftarea, staff of Tift Regional Oncology Center, the Adult Sunday school class of Tift Avenue Baptist Church and “Bosom Buddies”. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 5, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Williams was born on October 18, 1940 in White, GA (Bartow County) and was the daughter of Herman E. King, Sr. and Myrtle Ovalleen King, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lavelle Williams; her step-mother, Ruby King; three brothers, Everett King, Earl King and Clarence Bishop; and one sister, Gail King. She was a homemaker and owned and operated a home day-care center for many years before her retirement. She was an active member of Tift Avenue Baptist Church and loved her church and the Lord. She was also a member of Woodmen of the World. She was actively involved with Relay for Life and “Bosom Buddies” for many years. Her entire life revolved around her family and friends.
Mrs. Williams is survived by one son, Daniel Williams, Sr. of Tifton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joy and Chris McMillan of Enigma and Jan Williams of Tifton; three brothers, Edwin King of Tifton, Herman E. King Jr. of Brunswick and Thomas Bishop of Ocilla; two sisters, JoAnn Spicer of Tifton and Mary King of Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Erica Landers, Danielle W. Howell, Daniel L. “D.J.” Williams, Jr., Karrah Williams, Joshua Williams, Jared McMillan, Jacob Williams and William Edwards; four great grandchildren, Taisa Wallace, Tavon Wallace, Tyrique Wallace and Ryland Howell; a special aunt, Jo Wilson; and special friends, Gwen Aultman and Linda Ray.
