Obituary

Roy Joseph Kerlegan III’s life ended on Monday, March 1, 2010 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Stockbridge, GA. Roy, the son of Mr. Roy Joseph Kerlegan, Jr. and Mrs. Shirley Dukes Kerlegan was born June 21, 1989 in Stuttgart, Germany.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the Belair Rd. Chapel of Platt’s Funeral Home at 2:00p.m. with Reverend Walter Dukes Sr. officiating. Interment to follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Roy faithfully attended the Community Bible Church in Stockbridge, GA. He was a 2007 Greenbrier High graduate. Roy attended Georgia State University in Atlanta where he studied business. He was projected to graduate in December 2010. He also worked part-time at the Dwarf House (Chick Fil A) in Stockbridge, GA.
Roy was an active member of the Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi co-ed professional business fraternity. He participated in many volunteer activities on campus and in the surrounding communities. Roy was well loved and respected by his family, friends, coworkers, and all those who came in contact with him. Roy started riding motorcycles when he was 14 and truly enjoyed it.
Roy leaves to cherish his memories: his loving parents, Roy and Shirley Kerlegan, his dear sister, Kimberly Kerlegan of Evans, GA; great-grandmother, Anna Bell Chratain of Port Arthur, TX; nine uncles: Rev. Walter (Mary) Dukes, Steve (Sebrina) Dukes of Hephzibah, GA, James (Dallie) Dukes, Marion (Callie) Dukes, Enoch Dukes Jr. of Waynesboro, GA, Roland (Lynn) Kerlegan of Cade, LA, Beron (Clarissa) Kerlegan of Broussard, LA, Richard Kerlegan of St. Martinville, LA, Joel Kerlegan of Parks, LA; five aunts: Patricia (Ellis) Dent, Gloria (Timothy) Florence of Hephzibah, GA, Carolyn (Ronald) Fils of St. Martinville, LA, Patricia (John) George of Cade, LA, and Audrey Kerlegan Rothwell of Waldorf, MD, and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be , Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi of Georgia State University,
Gianni Orisamayi, Branden Roane, Michael T. Smith Jr., Briean Truss, Mr. Ronald Brown, Kwame Chery, Jarrell Abrams and Justin Brown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 5, 2010
From 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a childrens charity of ones choice.
