Stephen M. Almeida, 45. of New Bedford died January 19, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the son of Joan M. (Gomes) Almeida of New Bedford and the late Pedro Almeida.
Mr. Almeida was born in New Bedford and lived in Acushnet several years before becoming a resident of the Paul A. Dever School in Taunton. He has been a resident of Life Stream in New Bedford for the last 6 years.
Mr. Almeida was a happy go lucky man and a joy to his mother and family. He enjoyed music.
Survivors include his mother; 6 brothers, Pedro Almeida, Jr. of Boston, Paul Almeida and Robert Almeida, both of New Bedford, David Almeida and Mark Almeida, both of California and Ralph Almeida of Fall River; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting hours Tuesday, January 22nd from 4-7 PM.
