Obituary

Lillian I. (Dean) Werren, 87, of Methuen, passed away Friday February 26, 2010 at the Lawrence General Hospital following a long illness.

Lillian is survived by her sister and brother in law, Ruth D. and Alvin H. Towne of Methuen, two nephews, David Towne and his family of Arizona and Robert Towne and his family of Michigan, a niece Susan Towne and her family of Methuen and several great nieces and nephews.

Lillian was born April 22, 1922 and was a life-long resident of Methuen. She attended Searles High School where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class of 1940. She was employed by Merrimack Valley/Bay Bank where she retired as Vice President in 1987.

Lillian is predeceased by her husband John E. Werren. They enjoyed their family camp in Lunenburg and traveling together. They belonged to First Baptist Church of Methuen where they were very active and were members of the Jowamo Class. Lillian led a very fulfilling life and has now gone home to be with her beloved John and the Lord.

Friends are invited to call from 11 to 1 p.m. on Tuesday March 2nd at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Methuen. Donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church, 30 Park St., Methuen, MA 01844.
