In Taunton, February 25, 2010 Elizabeth G. “Betty” Karns age 91 died after a lengthy illness in Wedgemere Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Karns. Elizabeth was born in Portland, Maine to her late parents Alfred P. Lovejoy & Ella M. (Knowles) Lovejoy. Betty graduated from Pittsfield High School, class of 1937. She was a homemaker all of her adult life and also a member of the First Congregational Church of Raynham. She loved spending time with her family. Betty is survived by her five children: Robert T. Karns & his wife Charlene of Newport, R.I., Charles P. Karns & his wife Janine of Raynham, David M. Karns & his wife Cheryl of Seekonk, Sandra Dumont & her husband Raymond of East Falmouth and Barbara Leary & her husband Michael of Raynham and predeceased by an infant son. Sister of the late Dorothy (Lovejoy) Sumner and the late Peter Lovejoy. Betty also leaves her eleven grand children, eleven great grandchildren, one neice and four nephews. A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday, March 2nd at 11am. at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton, MA. 02780. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours one hour prior to the service from 10-11am. Interment will be in the Pleasant St. Cemetery in Raynham.
