Emily Matterazzo, a life long Medford resident died Sunday at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 69.
She was a graduate of Medford High School and of St. Joseph College in Maine.
For many years she was the woman´s matron for the Medford Police Department. She also held several security positions in the Medford area.
Emily was also the Wide World of Sports wrist wrestleing champion in 1971.
She was the loving daughter of Maria (Guidotti) and the late Michael Matterazzo. She was a devoted sister to Eugene “Gene” Matterazzo of Framingham, Norma Giacobbe of Malden, and the late John J. Matterazzo. Emily also leaves many dear nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
