Obituary

Chelmsford - Mrs. Athena (Kalogeropoulos) Kalabokis, 77, passed away Thursday February 25th at Lowell General Hospital.
She was born April 19, 1932 in Kalamata, Greece daughter of the late Panagiotis and Efstathia Kalogeropoulos.
Born and educated in Greece, she met and married her husband George in Australia on May 1, 1960. They would have celebrated their fiftieth anniversary on May 1, 2010.
She came to the United States with her husband George and settled in Chelmsford. She worked as a seamstress in the Lowell Textile Mills for many years. Athena was a member of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell.
She is survived by her loving husband George Kalabokis of Chelmsford; two sons, Konstantinos Kalabokis and his wife Joanne of Tyngsborough, Peter Kalabokis and his wife Bethany of Chelmsford; a brother, Nikitas Kalogeropoulos and his wife Katerina of Greece; four grandchildren, Katerina, Athena, George, and Jesena Kalabokis; also many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS - Friends will be received at the M.R.LAURIN FUNERAL HOME on Sunday from 4 to 8p.m. The funeral will take place on Monday at 9a.m. from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church at 10am. Interment will take place in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Transfiguration Church, Fr. Sarantos Way Lowell, Ma. 01854. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Louis M. Fazio III, M. Richard Laurin, and Scott Laurin.
