Irma Fahey, 92, of West Warwick, RI, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at her daughter's home in Windham, NH. Mrs. Fahey was born in Warren, RI on November 28, 1917, a daughter of the late Jesse S. and Ethel (Embree) Bowden. Raised in Warren, she was a graduate of Warren High School and Bryant College in Rhode Island. Mrs. Fahey was employed as a US Census Taker for the US Census Bureau. She enjoyed wintering in Punta Gorda, FL from 1991 - 2004.
She is survived by one son, William Fahey of Howey-In-The-Hills, FL; three daughters, Joan Smith of West Warwick, Joyce Ryan of Windham, and Carol Fahey of Bedford, NH; six grandchildren; as well as four great grandchildren and a nephew, John MacPhee. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Fahey in 1991.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 1st at 11:00am in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St. Derry, NH is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Assoc., 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305 or to the NH Easter Seals, 555 Auburn Street, Manchester, NH 03103.
