Obituary

Blanche M. Armstrong, 95, formerly of Manville, died Wednesday at Greenville Health Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond A. Armstrong.
Born in Manville, she was a daughter of the late Omer and Edouandina (Brodeur) Rouette. She was a resident of Manville for most of her life and resided in Woonsocket for several years prior to living in Greenville.
Mrs. Armstrong worked at several firms in the local textile industry and retired from Tupperware in Blackstone after many years.
Blanche was a lifelong communicant of St. James Parish in Manville. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, and was an avid bowler. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and especially delighted in the arrival of great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Norman R. Armstrong and his wife Kathryn of Cranston, Robert B. Armstrong and his wife JoAnn of Warwick, and a daughter, Claudette D. Gentes of Woonsocket. She was the sister of the late Omer Rouette, Doris Tosches, Jean Mendoza, Dolores Gauthier, and Lucille Pelletier. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St. Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Saturday morning, prior to Mass, from 8:00– 9:30 am in the Menard Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville.
