Paxton--Roxie (Zakarian) Orent, 89, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at the Odd Fellows Home. Her husband, Alexander J. Orent died in 2007. She leaves her sister, Virginia Zakarian, a niece, several nephews, and their families. She was predeceased by a sister Anna Zakarian and two brothers Simon and George Zakarian.
Roxie was born in Worcester, the daughter of Hachador and Azniv (Kachadorian) Zakarian. She graduated from the former Commerce High School and Ollis Beauty Academy. She worked at Virginia's Beauty Salon for many years. Roxie was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church.
Her family extends their appreciation to the staff for the compassionate care and friendship given to Roxie while she resided at Odd Fellows.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Friday, Feb. 26, from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. A graveside funeral service will follow at Hope Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent or donations made to the UMass Memorial Foundation, PO Box 2795, Worcester, MA 01613-9938.
