Richard John Vaughan, 81, of Framingham, formerly of Natick and Lexington, passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2010. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 55 years, Joan P. (Kelliher) Vaughan. He is survived by his children whom he adored, Richard Jr, his wife, Michelle of Needham, his daughters, Susan Stevens, her husband, Dennis of Natick, and Audrey Swennes, her husband, Jon of Framingham, and his son-in-law, Thomas Minor of Ft. Myers, FL. Richard was predeceased by his cherished daughter, Patricia Minor in 2008. He leaves his eight grandchildren: Amanda and RJ Vaughan, Kelly and Sean Minor, Julia and Bridget Stevens, and Eric and Scott Swennes.
Born in Lexington, he was the son of Julia T. (Dee) and Charles F. Vaughan. He attended Lexington High School and the University of Maine at Orono. Dick was a proud Lieutnent in the Marine Corps who served during the Korean conflict. Mr. Vaughan, a resident of Natick for 42 years retired from Kemper Insurance Co. in 1991 after a successful career as a Marketing Executive. Dick was a die-hard Red Sox fan and enjoyed many years as the President of the BoSox Club.
