Mrs. Doris Marie Jones, age 72, of Summerfield, NC, widow of the late Charles G. Jones passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Hospice of Rockingham in Wentworth. Mrs. Jones was born in Roanoke County, VA on March 29, 1937 to the late George W. and Mary Overfelt Hall. Mrs. Jones worked with handicapped children and was a member of Light House Baptist Church in VA. Mrs. Jones is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Busick and husband Russell of McLeansville, Teresa Rich and husband Chris Mason of McLeansville and Donna Bates of Summerfield; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Tommie Hall and wife Nancy of Roanoke, VA, Don Hall and wife Betty of Boones Mill, VA and Larry Hall and wife Jean of Trinity, NC; sister, Lois Kennedy and husband Lester of Radford, VA.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Richard Hall, husband and great grandchild, Bradley Everhart. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Cox-Needham Chapel in Pilot Mountain at 11:00 AM. with Rev. J.C. Willard officiating with interment to follow in the Pinnacle United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church of Willis, VA. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain (www.coxneedham.com) is assisting the Jones family.
