Mr. William Lee Wright, age 71, of Tobaccoville, passed away at his home early Tuesday morning, February 23, 2010. Mr. Wright was born in Washington County, VA on November 25, 1938 to the late William Edward and Ollie Pauline Carter Wright.
Mr. Wright worked as a furniture worker and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Wright is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Terry Wright of the home; five children, Pamela Jean Wright of Raleigh, Leola Lynette Whitehead of Iowa, Michael Lane Allen, Tony Lee Allen both of Winston-Salem and Franklin R. Allen, Jr. of Tobaccoville; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Wright of Georgia; and one sister, Doris Rodgers of Eden. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents and one son, William Lee Wright, Jr.; one brother, John Carter Wright. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Hilltop Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Barry Marshall officiating with interment to follow in the Bluemont Presbyterian Church Cemetery at a later date.The family will receive friends from 12-2 prior to the service on Thursday at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Wright in c/o Cox-Needham Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
