Ronald Ouellette, 81, of Hudson, died Sunday, Feb. 21st at Knowlwood Nursing Center in West Boylston. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Chizuko (Ogawa) Ouellette of Hudson.
Ronald was born and raised in Salem, son of the late Charles and Marie (Chouinard) Ouellette and was a graduate of Salem High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S Army. In 1965 he started the Arrow Moccasin Co. in Hudson which he owned and operated until 2008. In 2008, he transferred his interest in the company to his son Paul who continues its daily operation to this day. In 1980 he purchased the Apsley Mansion in Hudson and resided there for over 15 years, restoring much of the mansion to its original state. He and his wife Chizuko have remained Hudson residents since 1967. Ronald was an artist who loved to paint and sculp. He loved Hawaiian music which he listened to most of his life and also played the Hawaiian steel guitar in a band he had formed in the 40’s and continued to play with throughout the 50’s.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Paul Ouellette of Hudson and his daughter, Denise Ouellette of New York, NY. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. His funeral services are being held at the convenience of the family.
