Obituary

Maria Judite (Costa) Fraga, 62, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, February 21. She was the wife of Luis G. Fraga. Born and educated in Lajes, Flores, Azores, Portugal, she settled in Stoughton in 1974. Mrs. Fraga was self-employed, working at her family owned market, Fraga’s Market in Stoughton since 1979. She helped with the San Joao Filarmonica Band in Stoughton for 5 years. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, jigsaw puzzles, knitting and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fraga is survived by her sons, Roy M. Fraga and his wife Maria of Stoughton and Paul J. Fraga and his wife Colleen of NC, as well as her grandchildren, Claudia, Cody and Kyle Fraga. She was the sister of Joao Costa of Stoughton, Antonio Costa of both Canada and Portugal, Alzira Andrade of Canada, Irminia Fraga, Victor Costa and Olga Costa all of Portugal and the late Jose Costa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, February 25 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 6-8 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Maria’s name may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
