Walter F. Jefferson, 83, of Northport, Fl., & Middleborough, formerly of Abington, died in Northport FL on February 18th. He was the beloved husband of the late Edith J.(Hoyt) Jefferson.
He was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, son of the late Frederick and Martha (Crocker) Jefferson.
Walter attended Stoughton schools, before moving to Abington. He was an Abington resident for nearly 40 years and worked in the furniture business for many years, retiring as the school security officer for Abington Public Schools.
In recent years he divided his time between Northport, Fl., during the winter months and the TFCA Campground in Middleborough, MA during the summer.
He enjoyed listening to the Reverend Robert Schuler of the Crystal Cathedral in Anaheim, CA. and attended services there whenever traveling to the west coast. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends while living a carefree, active lifestyle.
He is survived by his children, Nancy Morin of Taunton, Richard Jefferson and his wife Nancy of Vero Beach, Fl., and Peter Jefferson and his wife Kimberly of Henderson, NV., his grandchildren, Christin, Michael, Robert, Joy, Daniel, Sean and Mackenzie, his great-grandchildren, Austin, Meagan and Nicholas, his sisters, Helen Zampi, Marjorie White and Eleanor Tardie; several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late John , Ernest and Wilfred Jefferson and Hazel Madden .
His services will be held on Friday February 26th at 10AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman the Rev. Jeff White officiating .Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson, MA.Visitation will be on Thursday February 25th from 4:00-8:00PM
