WORCESTER___Edward A. O'Toole, Jr., 72, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 in Beaumont Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, Northbridge.
He leaves a brother, James D. O'Toole, a sister, Ann Marie Richard; a son, Jonathan O'Toole; two daughters, Allison, wife of George LeClair and Carolyn, wife of Michael Daniels; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces, his best friend John Joseph, and Bentley, his beloved King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Edward A. and Dorothy M. (Holbrook) O'Toole and was a graduate of the former St. Stephen's High School.
Mr. O'Toole worked in the data processing center for the City of Worcester for many years prior to retiring. He also worked for Lockheed Air in California and the former Eastern Airlines in Worcester. Although he enjoyed traveling and cooking, his real passion was collecting antiques and Russian Icons. He was a parishioner of St. Stephen Church.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of UMASS Memorial Hospice and Beaumont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their exceptional and compassionate care of Edward during his illness.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 24, with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, is directing funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UMass Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Ma., 01605-2060.
