Marjorie R. King, 81, of Pittsburg, NH, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 in the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, NH. Mrs. King was born in Derry, NH on May 3, 1928, a daughter of the late Charles and Eugenia (Corliss) Cummings. She was a resident of Pittsburg, NH for the past several years, formerly a lifelong Derry resident. Mrs. King was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1946. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Derry and a former member of the Pythian Sisters. Mrs. King enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed needlework and bowling.
She is survived by her son, James A. Payne and wife Dianne, and her grandson Caleb Tufts all of Pittsburg; her daughter, Robin Cyr of Florida; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Jean Gagnon of Chester, NH, Sharon Roy of Methuen, MA, and Barbara Beliveau of Lawrence, MA; three brothers, Robert Cummings of Methuen, MA, Frederick Cummings of Mass., and Donald Cummings of Blackstone, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry in the Spring. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
