Mason-White Funeral Home - WASHINGTON…J.D. Floyd, 68, of Washington, passed away peacefully at 8:45 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2010 at his home with his family by his side.
J.D. was born on December 12, 1941 in Hazen, Arkansas to Festus and Iva Jenkins Floyd.
Among those surviving is one son, Keith (Joyce) Floyd of Washington; two daughters, Gina Craig of East Peoria and Cheryl (Ken) Calef of Dennard, Arkansas; three sisters, Ruth Kee of Hazen, Arkansas, Mildred Cox of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Jeffie (Pasco) Zarlingo of West Memphis, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Tiffany and Stephanie Floyd and a great granddaughter, Kaylee Harris. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
J.D. retired from Caterpillar in East Peoria where he had worked for 30 years and also retired from the Peoria Journal Star after working 20 years as a driver for the paper. He was a member of UAW Local #974.
Funeral services for J.D. will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home with Dale Pittenger officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
