Rodney Neal York, 71, Clarksville, died Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born May 30, 1938 in Montgomery County son of the late Richard York and Minnie Black York. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Jr, Charles, Carney, and Douglas York; and two sisters, Margaret Suiter and Gladys Willson. Survivors include three sons, Jason York (Kimberly), Clarksville; Greg York (Emily), Jackson, TN; Todd York (Christy), Nashville; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tal Powers, Pat Powers, Randy Young, Donnie Willson, Stanley York, and Daniel Willson. Honorary pallbearer will be Lester York. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203-2003.
