Obituary

TYSON - James E. "Bud" Tyson, 80, passed away Thursday morning, February 18, 2010 at his Yulee, FL residence. He moved to Yulee 20 years ago from Jacksonville, FL and was of the Baptist faith. He was a double retiree retiring from National Merchandise Company and the U. S. Army. He was both a Korean War Veteran and a Vietnam Veteran and a recipient of the following awards and medal: National Defense, Good Conduct, Bronze Star, Armor Badge, Vietnam Service with 2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60, 2 O/S Bars, Army Commendation Medal, Gallantry Cross, Combat Infantryman's Badge, and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Silver Star. Mr. Tyson was a personable individual, a history buff and loved to fish. He was a devoted husband and father. He was predeceased by his wife, Ollie Rae Tyson, a brother, Dick Tyson and his parents. Survivors include a son, Mark Tyson of St. Augustine, FL; a daughter and son in law, Patsy and David Wayne Cloer of Jacksonville, FL; one grandson, Specialist David Lee Cloer who is presently serving with the U. S. Army in Iraq; a brother, Dell Kline of Fernandina Beach, FL; one sister, Betty Bennett of Panama City, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow in Brickyard Cemetery with Full Military Honor provided by the U.; S. Army. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
