Obituary

North Andover, MA - Roland C. Korb, 90, of North Andover, died peacefully, Tuesday February 16th at the Franklin Regional Hospital in Franklin, NH surrounded by his family.
Mr. Korb was born in Lawrence, MA on October 19, 1919. He was the third son of Emil B. and Louise (Minzner) Korb.
Roland was educated in Lawrence and Methuen Schools. He graduated from the Edward F. Searles High School class of 1937 and then went on to receive a degree in Business Administration from Boston College in 1951.
Mr. Korb served with the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He continued his service to his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves until 1979, when he retired. While serving he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
For several years Mr. Korb worked for General Electric in Lynn, MA. He was later employed by the Internal Revenue Service where he was the Director of Transcriptions until retiring in 1978.
Roland was an avid golfer and sailor. In the summer months he enjoyed spending most of his time at his summer home on Big Island pond, in Derry, NH with his family. His family was his greatest joy and spending time with them meant the most to him.
Sharing 44 years of a happy marriage, he was the widower of Margaret Patricia (Moynihan). He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his six children; Janet Ganson of Chamberlin, MA; Eric Korb and his wife Donna of Windham, NH; Nancy Waterhouse and her husband Paul, of Bridgton, ME; Margaret Biery and her husband Dennis of Derry, NH; Leif Korb and his wife Joan of Plaistow, NH and Susan Murgo and her husband Stephen of North Andover, MA. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren George; Katie; Ashley; Sean; Jake; Joslyn; Emily and Nikki.
He was predeceased by his son-in-law George Ganson.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 5-9 at the Kenneth H. Pollard funeral home 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. Private Funeral Services will be held at a later date at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home 139 Winter St., Tilton, NH 03276.
