Michael R. Kaufman, 55, of Sherri Drive, North Providence, died Monday, February 15, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Helene (Cartier) Kaufman.
Born in Reading, PA, he was a son of Benjamin and Jean (Stoudt) Kaufman, of Warwick. He had been a resident of North Providence for almost 22 years.
He was an Internal Auditor for Care New England on the Butler Campus in Providence. He had previously been an Office Manager for Kar-Kraft in Plainville. He had also worked as an auditor for the Department of Defense. He retired from the RIARNG after 29 years in 2007.
He was a former member of the 88th Army Band. He was a member of the Warwick Symphony Orchestra and the RI Philharmonic Community Orchestra.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children; Joshua W., Sarah L., and Matthew K. Kaufman all of North Providence, his grandson, Jason T. Gregoire, a brother, Mitchell Kaufman of Warwick and an uncle, Kenneth Stoudt, of Reading, PA.
Funeral Friday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth Street, North Providence. Burial with Military Honors in RI Veteran’s Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4-7pm.
