Obituary

Joseph F. Ferraro 66, of Belmont, died Sunday Feb. 14th, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Lexington, following an extended period of failing health.
Born in Scranton, PA, January 10, 1944 a son of the late Michael V. and Dorothy B. (Pease) Ferraro, he lived in Belmont for more than 20 years.
He was educated in the Scranton School District, and was a 1961 graduate of Scranton Central. He attended E. Stroudsburg University, and was proud of his honorable service with the Massachusetts National Guard.
Until his retirement, he was employed as a sales representative for Honda Barn in West Reading, Ma.
He was a former communicant of St. Patrick Church in Watertown, and was a Past Grand Knight at Waltham Council Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed sports and travel, especially to Aruba.
He is survived by two brothers; Michael Ferraro and his wife Joanne of Taylor, PA, Ralph Ferraro and his wife Nancy of Milford, a niece Elisa Rosenwinkle and her husband John of Phil., PA, two nephews; Michael Ferraro and his wife Kathy of Boston, Jeffrey Ferraro and his companion Jesse of Raynham, 1 great niece Claire in Phil., PA, a great nephew: Frank of Boston, two aunts; Lena Ferraro of Scranton, and Louise Ferraro of Levittown, PA, and several cousins. He also leaves his longtime loving partner Betty Poiror of Belmont.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Thursday Feb. 18th from 5-8PM at the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin (www.franklinfuneral.com).
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday morning at St. Lucy Church in Scranton, PA.
Interment will follow at the family lot in Abington Hills Cemetery.
