WORCESTER: Irene M. (Borezo) Kelly, 91, of 5 Columbine Rd., died Monday, February 15, 2010 in UMass Memorial Medical center - Memorial Campus. Her husband of 29 years, Francis P, Kelly, died December 19, 1972.
She leaves 2 sons, Brian P. Kelly and his wife Jane of New Orleans, La., William F. Kelly of Spencer; 3 daughters, Kathleen A. Wickman and her husband Bruce of Jefferson, Deborah J. Gagnon and her husband Phil of Worcester, Susan M. Deso and her husband Bob of Auburn; a sister, Alice F. Wilson of Hopkinsville, Ky., 8 grandchildren, Patrick and Katie Kelly, David and Michael Wickman, Chris and Amanda Gagnon, Tim and Joel Deso; and many nieces and nephews. Five brothers, Charles H. Borejszo, Edward C. Borezo, Stanley T. Borejszo, Edwin J. Borezo, Aleck C. Borezo, and two sisters, Hedy V. Krebbs and Antoinette D. McAtee, all predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Stanley W. and Mary V. (Zaikowski) Borezo. She was raised in Shrewsbury before moving to Worcester where she lived most of her life.
Irene worked at Henry L. Hanson Co. for several years, until she retired. She previously worked at Worcester State College. She was a long time member of Christ the King Church. She enjoyed reading, baking, crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble with her grandchildren and visiting Foxwoods with her children.
The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the nursing staff of DaVita Dialysis Center and the Critical Care Unit at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus, for the exceptional, loving care they provided to Irene.
There are no calling hours. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A.M. on FRIDAY, FEB. 19, in CHRIST THE KING CHURCH, 1052 Pleasant St., followed by burial in St. John’s Cemetery. Kelly Funeral Home, 154 Lincoln St. is assisting the family.
