Obituary

Harry W. Vozella, of Franklin, died, Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Milford Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Grace (Morrisroe) Vozella.

Born in Norfolk, he was a son of the late Francesco A. and M. Josephine (Romano) Vozella.

Mr. Vozella was a longtime resident of Franklin. He graduated from Walpole High School and attended Bridgeton Academy in Bridgeton, ME. He went to Boston College on a football scholarship and graduated from Northeastern University School of Law.

Mr. Vozella served in the Army Air Corps in England during WWII and attained the rank of Captain.

Mr. Vozella was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Assoc. and was a practicing attorney for over 50 years. He served as both a selectman and an assessor for the town of Franklin and was the Postmaster of the Franklin Post Office for many years until his retirement.

Mr. Vozella was a member of the Franklin Rotary Club and was a lifelong football fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ann Marie Matteson and her husband Joseph of Walpole, a son, Paul Vozella and his wife Carol of Auburn and a granddaughter, Jean Vozella of Auburn.

He was pre-deceased by six brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, February 18 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St., Franklin, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Mary’s Church, Church Square, Franklin, MA 02038.
