Paul Francis O’Brien, 65, of Conway, South Carolina, died Saturday, September 20, 2003, after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Stephen J. and Mary J. O’Brien of Newton.Mr. O’Brien was born September 8, 1938, in Boston, MA. He grew up in Newton and was a 1957 graduate of Newton High School. He was a mechanical engineer and was retired from Unitrode Corporation in Watertown, MA, before moving to Conway.He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Katherine, of Conway, SC, his six children, Susan Benes of Newton, MA, Paul O’Brien, Jr. of Newton, MA, Laura Gleim of North Grovesnordale, CT, Colleen Hebert of Derry, NH, Terrence O’Brien of Nashua, NH, and Erin Ishmael of Seabrook, NH, his thirteen grandchildren, two sisters and one brother, Maureen Fessenden of Falmouth, MA, Stephen O’Brien, Jr. of Newton, MA, and Margaret O’Brien of Sudbury, MA. He was the former husband of Carol Sawyer. All are invited to a memorial service to be held on Saturday, October 4, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady’s Help of Christians Church in Newton, located at 573 Washington Street, Tel. No. 617-527-7560.
