Mrs. Grady Pauline Nunn Jackson, age 97, of Pilot Mountain passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Northern Hospital of Surry County.Mrs. Jackson was born in Surry county on November 2, 1912 to the late Rufus Dillard and Verlie Ann Southern Nunn.
Mrs. Jackson was a retired farmer and homemaker and a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church . Mrs. Jackson is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Betty Jackson Joyce, Janie Jackson Ashburn and Cathy Jackson Wall (Chester), all of Pilot Mountain; five grandchildren, Julia Matthews (Tim) of Pilot Mountain, Lindsay Ashburn Jr. (Tammy) of King, Renea Shore (Erik) of Hamptonville, Robert Wall (Danielle) of Pilot Mountain; Brenda Chapman (Mark) of Westfield; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, LC Nunn of Mt. Airy; one sister, Beulah Gibbons of Mt. Airy; and one sister-in-law, Lillie Mae Nunn of Pinnacle. Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Woodrow Jackson; one infant son, RC Jackson, one brother, Troy Nunn; three sisters, Eva Turney, Loma Wilson and Thelma Mitchell. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. with the Bro. Chester Wall and the Rev. Ron Chamblin officiating with interment to follow at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery . Mrs. Jackson will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service on Monday, February 15, 2010 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. The Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2552 Old Highway 52 S, Pilot Mountain , NC 27041 .
