Obituary

WORCESTER-Anne Marie (Moran) Azier, 60, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, February 12.

Anne Marie is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Ranaghan, a granddaughter, Kayla Ranaghan, a sister, Mary C. Moran, a brother, Michael W. Moran all of Worcester and a niece, Maggie Moran of Fitchburg. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles as well as many cousins.

Anne Marie was born in Worcester, the daughter of Francis and Eleanor (Shugrue) Moran. She graduated from St. Peter’s Central Catholic High School in 1968 and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in 1971. Immediately following her graduation from nursing school, Anne Marie began a forty year career at Worcester State Hospital. During her long career she rose through the ranks from Staff Nurse to Supervisor and retired on January 31, 2010 as the assistant Director of Nurses. Anne Marie was also a fifty-five year member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.

Anne Marie’s pride and joy were her daughter and granddaughter. Her infectious laugh and “heart of gold” made a lasting impression on all who were privileged to know her.

The funeral will be on Thursday, February 18 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, February 17 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
