Barbara L. (Miles) Fabens, 81, of Marlboro, died Thursday, Feb. 11th at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center.
Barbara was born in Dighton, daughter of the late Eugene and Irene (Brissette) Miles and was raised in Hudson were she attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. After high school she attended the Brom’s Hairdressing School in Worcester and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She was employed as a secretary for the Raytheon Co. in Sudbury for many years until her retirement. She most recently was employed as a cashier for Kennedy’s Market in Marlboro. Barbara enjoyed the many trips she shared with her fellow “Golden Girls”.
She is survived by her children, Sally Fabens of Alexandria, VA, Fern Collins of Clinton and Gary Miles of Hampton, NH. She is also survived by her sister Pauline Porter of Marlboro and was much loved by the Kennedy and Doherty grandchildren for the loving care she gave them. She was the mother of the late Andrew Fabens and sister of the late Donald, Richard and Raymond Miles and Dorothy Lacy.
A funeral service will be held on Monday Feb. 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial in Harmony Grove Cemetery in Salem will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Feb. 14th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
