Obituary

Jesup- Willie Oren “Dub” Yeomans, age 92, passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 after an extended illness. Dub was a star running back and quarter back for Wayne County in the 1930’s, better known as “Dynamic Dub” in those days. He served in the Army in World War II, and was the Wayne County Tax Commissioner in the 1950’s and knew everyone in Wayne County by name. He worked many jobs and co-owned Paradise Park and Yeomans Shoe Store with his brother Herman. He was in the first class of inductees in the Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Hillman Yeomans.

Surviving are two daughters: Merris Christi of Jesup and Patty and Charlie Feltman of Jesup; one son: Gary “Bud” and Tonya Yeomans of Jesup; three grandchildren: Melodie Gentry, Myles Feltman and Mycah Feltman ; one great-grandchild : Oren Kade Gentry.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 at 11 am from the Jesup First Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Felix Haynes, Reverend Warren Taylor and Donald Westberry officiating.

Interment will follow in the Jesup City Cemetery

The family will receive friends Monday beginning at 9 am at the Jesup First Baptist Church.
Active Pallbearers will be Myles Feltman, Mycah Feltman, Donnie Keith, Ron Starling,
Randy Franks and Billy Cowart.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Len Hauss, Al Copeland, Nick Harris, Jerry Bennett, Ronnie Harris, Ray Murray, Michael Gentry and Nubbin Keith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Finishing with Faith Building Fund, 185 S. Brunswick Street, Jesup, GA 31545.
