Elsie M. (Johnson) Anderson, 88, formerly of Auburn, MA died Sunday at the Wingate of Wilbraham Nursing Home where she was a resident. Born in Worcester, MA on July 14, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hannah (Mattson) Johnson. She graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester and from hair dressing school.
Elsie worked as a hairdresser at the Florence Ryerson Beauty Salon in Worcester for over 30 years. A resident of Auburn for over 65 years, Elsie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester. She is pre-deceased by husbands John E. Warner and G. William Anderson, both formerly of Auburn. She is survived by her son, John R. Warner and his wife Susan of Wilbraham, MA, two grandchildren, Lori B. Mott (Gary) of Northborough and Dinabeth Hokanson (Ronald) of Springfield, MA, five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Nathan and Sonja Mott and Christopher and Eric Hokanson, and her sister Enid St. Germain of Chelmsford, formerly of Spencer, MA. Her brother Hugo Johnson also pre-deceased her. Elsie also leaves several nieces and nephews. Until recently, Elsie enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, and organ playing.
