Obituary

West Boylston - Herbert F. Johnson, 75, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Rose Marie (Anderson) Johnson. He also leaves a son, Scott G. Johnson and his wife Annette of NH, one sister, Dorothy M. Woodward of Spencer, two brothers, Kenneth Johnson of FL and Carl W. Johnson and his wife Donna of West Boylston, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, David G. Johnson and a sister-in-law, Doris Johnson.

Herbert was born in Franklin, MA, son of Carl W. and Marion R. (Brown) Johnson. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for many years as a wire engineer for various manufacturing companies. He was a member of the Burncoat Baptist Church and was very active in Boy Scouts of America. Herbert was an honorary member of Supreme Council of Scottish Rite holding the honor of a 33rd degree mason. He was a member and treasurer of Morning Star Lodge A.F. & A.M., member and treasurer of Scottish Rite the Valley of Worcester, and a member of York Rite. He was a past District Deputy Grand Master for the Brookfield 21st Masonic District.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Monday, February 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral and Masonic services will follow at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Morning Star Lodge Scholarship Fund or the A. Robert Shaw Scholarship Fund or the Greater Worcester 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Center, One Ionic Ave., Worcester MA 01608.
