Carolyn M. Vassallo, 59, passed away at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston on February 3rd, 2010. She was born in Malden on April 30th, 1950 to her parents Anthony and the late Shirley (Patkiewicz) DiLullo. Carolyn was raised in Medford and is a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1968. For the past 35 years, Carolyn worked first as a word processor operator and for the last ten as a Legal Secretary for the law firm Nutter, McClennen & Fish in Boston. Carolyn and her husband Chuck have been residents of Brockton for nearly 30 years. Carolyn enjoyed knitting, reading a good book and most of all, being a member of the Disney Vacation Club, Carolyn enjoyed to travel. Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband Charles "Chuck" Vassallo; by her loving father Anthony DiLullo of Medford; by her sister; Lori White and her husband Thomas of Medford and their children Thomas and Brian of Melrose; and Thomas's wife Tami and their children Anthony, and Savannah; her brother Robert DiLullo of California;by her aunts Virginia DiLullo of Medford and Rita Hayes and her husband John Hayes of Iowa; and their children; by her bother-in-law Robert Vassallo and his wife Maryann of Tewksbury; by her brother-in-law John Vassallo and his wife Janice of Celebration, Florida; by her brother-in-law Paul Vassallo and his wife Marge of Damariscotta, Maine; by her sister-in-law Priscilla Antkowiak and her husband Ray of Auburn and by her sister-in-law Lyn Dealtry and her husband Don of San Carlos, California. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Robert Jr., Denise, Linda, Robyn, Lauren, Rick, Andrea, Michael, Justin, Julie, Jeff, Lisa, Nick and Ryan; any by her grandnieces and grandnephews; Nicholas, Kellianne, Kyle, Ryan, Roman, Paige, Arnold III, Peter, Isaac, Alexander, Courtney, Maya, Jake, Emmi and Joey. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Funeral Mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church Chapel, 600 Pleasant St., Malden on Saturday February 27th at 9 AM. After a year long courageous battle, Carolyn lost her fight to a very rare form of cancer.
