Obituary

George “Carl” Anderson Jr. a lifelong resident of Stoughton,MA, passed away on Saturday September 27,2003 at the home of his grandniece, Cheryl Gill, of Albany,NH. He was 84 years old.

Born April 2,1919, in Stoughton, he was the son of the late George Carl Anderson Sr. and Maude (Guild).

He attended Stoughton Public Schools, and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. He enlisted in the United States Army, and was discharged Honorably with the rank ofPFC.

He was a member of the IOOF in Stoughton, the Stoughton Historical Society, the Stoughton Musical Society and the Appalachian Mountain Club. He also attendedThe New England Conservatory of Music.

He was employed by the former Belcher Last Co. in Stoughton, as a Lastmaker.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stoughton.Prior to his moving to New Hampshire, he was a caretaker at the church for many years.He also played the organ.

Besides his grand-niece, he is survived by his two nephews: Richard Beal of Easton,MAAnd Frank Beal of New York State. Also his sister-in-law Gladys Beal. He was the step-brother of the late Frank Beal, Raymond Beal and Irma Birnie.

His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday September 30,2003 at 11 AM from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. The Reverend Dr. Henry K. JamesPastor of the First United Methodist Church of Stoughton, officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Stoughton. Visiting will be prior to the service, from 9-11 AM.At the family’s request: Donations to the charity of ones choice, would be appreciated.
