Obituary

Madeleine P. (Savard) Fournier, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9th, 2010 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Fournier.



Born in Lowell on April 19, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Angeline (Matte) Savard. Madeleine resided in Dracut for over 20 years and was formerly of Lowell where she was a communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste Parish.



Prior to her retirement, she was employed in housekeeping with the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell for many years. Madeleine was an avid bingo playing and enjoyed watching her soap operas.



She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dolly and Bernie Comtois and Claire and Allen Levesque, all of Dracut; a son, Paul Fournier, Jr. of Dracut; three grandchildren, Michelle Elie and her companion, Scott of Dracut, Jacqueline Goodwin and her husband Chris of Peterborough, NH, and John Elie and his wife Heather of Johnson, VT; five great grandchildren, Madelyn, David, Sarah, Emily and Martin; also several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Leo Savard, Jean Nardin and Andy Savard, sister-in-law of the late Roland Nardin and great grandmother of the late Ashley Goodwin.



Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Thursday, Feb. 11 from 4 to 8pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Marguerite D'Youville Parish (Ste. Therese Chruch), Dracut. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
