TEWKSBURY: Lawrence P. O'Brien, Sr. age70, a resident of Tewksbury for 50 years, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Gynthersen) O'Brien, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 17, 2009.
Born in Stoneham on November 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Melania (Dion) O'Brien.
Mr. O'Brien was raised in Wilmington, attended Wilmington schools and graduated from the Greater Lowell Vocational School in 1959.
He was employed for many years as a machinist by the Graemar Company in Woburn. Most recently, Mr. O'Brien worked as a salesman in the hardware department at the Lowe's Home Improvement Company in Danvers.
He enjoyed many activities especially boating, fishing and collecting tools.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by six children, Lawrence P. O'Brien, Jr. of Tewksbury, Marceline M. Weaver of Salem, NH, Robert M. O'Brien of Tewksbury, Barbara J. Salinas of Ventura, CA, Ann L. Logan of Nashua, NH and Patrick S. O'Brien of Tewksbury; also twelve grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Mr. O'Brien was the father of the late Christine E. O'Brien.
