Obituary

HOLDEN___Christina L. (Slowik) Wrobel, 63, of Holden, passed away peacefully and with dignity in the presence of her loving husband, daughters and sisters, Saturday February 6, 2010 in Tufts New England Medical Center, Boston.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Andrew J. Wrobel, two daughters, Julia I. Wrobel and Diana C. Wrobel both of Hawaii, her beloved cats; sisters, Halina Slowik of East Falmouth; Dorothy Dulmaine of Grafton, Theresa Slowik of Melfa, VA., six nephews, one niece, aunts, Teresa Hardek and Zosia Czostek of New York. She was born in Manchester, N.H. the eldest daughter of Frank and Antonina (Cieciura) Slowik. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy of Worcester and majored in Education at Worcester State College.

Mrs. Wrobel worked as an event planner and was the owner/operator of Weddings of Distinction. Through her creativity with floral arranging, combined with impeccable taste and attention to detail, she touched the lives of all who worked with her. Inspired by her love for all children, she enjoyed decorating for holidays, especially Christmas. In addition to her many talents, Christina was also co-owner of Micromet Precision Tools, Inc. with her husband.

She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Worcester and its Women's Guild. Christina was a founding member of the Polish Women's Philanthropic Association, and was also a member of the Polish Women's Festival Committee, the P.N.I Club and the Kosciuszko Foundation. As a constant supporter of Our Lady of Czestochowa, she happily donated countless hours unselfishly to the Church and for God. It was through promoting church events she inspired the youth to participate in the parish and embrace the Polish heritage.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the CCU doctors and nurses at Tufts New England Medical Center for all the great care and comfort provided. Many thanks to Father Ted, Father Kris and Father Richard for their endless faith and loving support.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 11 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday February 10, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for Masses in Christina's memory, to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester, Ma., 01610 or to the Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Rd, Sterling, Ma., 01564.
