George R. Keeffe died on Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the Wingate at Andover Nursing Center. He was 91 years old.
Born in Arlington, Massachusetts, on August 18, 1918, he was the son of the late William Harold and Mary (McKay) Keeffe. George was a member of St. Augustine Church in Andover and served in the US Army during WWII. He loved his family and was an avid sports fan.
George is survived by his wife M. Nancy (Sweet) Keeffe of Andover; son, Thomas Keeffe and his wife, Kathy of Pelham, New Hampshire; daughter, Ellen Regan and her husband, Jeffrey of Methuen; and four grandchildren, Michael and Sean Regan and Nicholas and Emily Keeffe; sister, Mary Carey of Winchester and several nieces and nephews. George was pre-deceased by his brothers, William, John, Paul and Joseph Keeffe.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, February 10, from 4 to 8 PM in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, February 11, at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, 20 High Vale Lane, Andover. Burial was in St. Augustine Cemetery in Andover.
