Obituary

Ann T. (Burke) Flynn 80 years old, of Brockton died Saturday February 6, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur H. Flynn and mother of the late Kevin M. Flynn. Ann was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Bridget (Hunt) Burke and remained a lifelong resident of the city. Following her graduation from St. Patrick High School in 1948 she was employed in the office of City Treasurer Leo Clancy for three years. After her family was grown, Ann was employed as a telephone operator at the Crescent Street office of New England Telephone & Telegraph and retired as a general clerk.
Ann was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and enjoyed traveling with the Mac-Tim Friends of Brockton. She was most proud of her Irish heriatge.
She is survived by her son Joseph Flynn of Falmouth and two daughters Kathleen Flynn of Brockton and Maureen Jardin and her husband David of Stoughton. She leaves 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was the sister of Mary Sampson of Whitman, Margaret Sylvia of Middleboro, J. Francis Burke of Wareham and the late Jeremiah J. Burke. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. James Church 560 Page St. Stoughton at 10 am.
