Grace D. (LeTourneau) Nickerson, 92, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at the Guardian Center in Brockton on Saturday, February 6. She was the wife of the late Andrew W. Nickerson. Born in Stoughton, she was a graduate of Stoughton schools. Mrs. Nickerson was an assembler at Brookfield Engineering in Stoughton for several years before retiring at age 65. She had previously worked as a stitcher at Shawmut Mills in Stoughton and manufactured parachute chords during World War II at JW Wood in Stoughton. An avid Red Sox fan, she also enjoyed sewing, puzzles, casinos and taking care of her great-grandchildren. She was also active at the Stoughton Senior Center.
Mrs. Nickerson is survived by her son, Edward S. Buchanan of Brockton, as well as her granddaughters, Mary E. Buchanan of Brockton and Jacqueline Bryan of Rye, NH. She was the great-grandmother of Cory, Kasey, Collin, Michael and Madison. She was the brother of Robert LeTourneau of Hanover. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, February 9 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 4-7 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
