Michael Franculli, age 38, of Wilmington passed away sudden and unexpectedly on February 3rd, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. Born in Medford he was the cherished son of Gina C. (Ricco) Franculli of Wilmington and the late Michele Franculli.
Michael was a Wilmington resident for most of his life where he attended Wilmington Schools as a young boy. He was a fun loving personality and enjoyed joking around with his friends and family who he cherished and greatly miss him. Michael loved to work and play on the computer, but his biggest passion was following the National Hockey League especially his beloved Boston Bruins. Michael was proud of his Italian herritage and also enjoyed following European Soccer and especially the Italian National Team during the World Soccer Tournaments.
In addition to his beloved mother, Michael is survived by his sisters, Rosalinda Franculli Layes and her husband Frank Layes of Chelmsford, Marisa and Eugenia Franculli both of Wilmington. He was the loving uncle of Brianna, Karla, and Jasmine Franculli, Frankie and Mikey Layes. He is also survived by his dear friends, Derek Longland, Jason Marrocco and Mike Gronemyer.
Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON Wednesday, February 10th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held Tuesday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn, Everett.
