Obituary

Carolyn Elizabeth (Hubbard) Vacheresse, age 64 of Plympton went on to be with her Lord peacefully, surrounded by her family. She is the most beloved mother of Pauline Prescott of Plympton and her husband Dorran of Plympton, Daniel Vacheresse and Michelle of Everett and Gabrielle Vacheresse and Ernest of Boston. She was beloved wife of the late Kenneth Vacheresse. She was the adoring grandmother of Hayden and Caroline Prescott, Karyn Vacheresse, Abigail Moody and the late Charles McMillan Jr. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Pauline Quirk of Abington and her husband James, Lorraine Hubbard of Gulf Breeze, FL and Dorothy Gallant of Norton and her husband Paul, and by her loving brother, William Hubbard and his wife Patricia of Readville. She was the daughter of her lovely mother, the late Dorothy Day. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and cousins. Carolyn was born in Boston and was raised Dedham and Boston. She attended the Jeremiah Burke High School and graduated in 1963. She married Kenneth in November 23, 1966 and lived in Somerville and Roslindale. They moved their family to Minnesota for three years before again settling in Somerville where she lived for 17 years. She moved to Plympton 10 years ago. She worked for many years at American Public Television in Boston working as an administrative manager. She enjoyed the time she spent with her close extended family and often blessed them with her talents of hand crocheted afghans and dolls. She also took pleasure in being outdoors bird watching and watching her grandchildren play. She cherished laughing with her sisters and brother, and she was the source of unending encouragement and support for her three children. She spent many hours reading scripture and communing with her Savior. Carolyn’s legacy of gentle strength and unconditional love will be carried by her family in their hearts. She is the foundation of her family and will be desperately missed. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Halifax , MA at 9:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2010. Burial following at Mt Pleasant Cemetery, Pembroke. A celebration of her life will take place at the home of Christine Sullivan (niece), 31 Priscilla Drive, Pembroke following. Family and friends are welcome. The family suggests donations in her memory be to The Jason Roberts Challenger Baseball League 94 Sprague Street, Readville, MA 02136.
