Obituary

DUDLEY - Zygmunt Kokosinski, 87, of Office Hill Road, died Tuesday, February 2, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Zofia (Niemiec) Kokosinska; 4 children, Ryszard Kokosinski and his wife Ursula, Anna Kokosinska, Teresa Lach and Eva Kokosinska, all of Dudley; 2 brothers, Jan Kokosinski of Krakow, Poland and Stanley Kosin of Chicago; a sister, Zofia Doniec of Poland; 7 grandchildren, Agnes, Christopher, Thomas, Elizabeth, Carolin, Adam and Sophia; 2 great grandchildren, Alexandra and Andrew; nephews and nieces.


He was born and raised in Poland, a son of Aleksy and Maria (Czarnota) Kokosinski. He moved to the United States in 1974.

Mr. Kokosinski was a farmer in Poland. He endured work for 2 years in a forced labor camp near Krakow during the German occupation in World War II. When he came to this area, he worked at Anglo Fabrics Company in Webster for many years and also with his son Ryszard at Kokos Machine Company in Dudley until age 78.

He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was known for his hard work in providing for his family all his life.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at VNA of Southern Worcester County and at Tri-Valley Elder Care for their compassion and attention to Mr. Kokosinski. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Krzystof Kacprzak for his personal attention to him over the years.

The funeral will be held Saturday, February 6, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, February 5, in the funeral home.
