J.R. Kicklighter, 79, of Leesburg, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 4, 2010, in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Kicklighter was born November 21, 1930 in Ware County to the late John E. and Henrietta Barnes Kicklighter. He moved to Dougherty County in 2001 from Fitzgerald. Mr. Kicklighter served in the United States Navy during the Korean War era. He worked for the Civil Service at the former Turner Field in Albany and Whiting Field in Milton, FL. Mr. Kicklighter was a member of the Moose Lodge and a former Mason and Shriner.
He is survived by his children: Linda K. Phillips of Albany, John R. Kicklighter, Jr., of Thomasville and Kristi Lynn Clark of Cairo; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Betty Sue Kicklighter Cox.
