Obituary

PEABODY - Victor L. Falta, 83, of Peabody, formerly of Chelsea, husband of the late Catherine P. (Szymanski) Falta, died Monday, February 1, 2010 at Mass General Hospital, Boston.

Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Vincent and Eva (Pajak) Falta and was a resident of Chelsea before moving to Peabody seven years ago.

Mr. Falta was a Navy veteran of WWII and attained the rating of Seaman First Class.

A quality control inspector for many years, he was employed at Kontron Instruments in Everett for several years, and later at Candella Corp in Stoughton, from which he retired in 1988.

Mr. Falta was a longtime member of the Polish America Veterans (PAV) in Chelsea.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Diane Falta of Peabody, Robert and Dee Falta of Saugus, two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and William Dixon and Catherine and James Limardo, all of Peabody, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Walter Falta, Stanley Falta, Celia Polchlopek, Adele Januskiewich, Bernice Hurley and Julia Gurski.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody. Visiting hours are Friday, 4 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
